TC 01.4 – Tubular Heat Exchanger

The concentric tube heat exchanger is the simplest in design among all the heat exchangers.

Description

It consists of two parallel tubes through which the cold fluid flows, with a smaller inner tube carrying the hot fluid, allowing heat transfer between the two.

Its main advantage lies in its straightforward construction and ease of operation.

The exchanger is divided into two sections and includes thermocouples at the midpoints, enabling clear observation of the temperature variation along the exchanger and significantly enhancing the educational value of the experiment.

This system supports both co-current and counter-current flow configurations.
