HY100 – HYDROGEN VECTOR TRAINER (H₂)
The Hydrogen Vector Trainer (HY100) is a didactic system designed to provide a practical demonstration of the operation of a PEM fuel cell and the associated stages of energy conversion, conditioning and use. The unit reproduces the functional layout of a hydrogen-based installation, enabling a clear and structured understanding of the complete process, from generation to electrical consumption.
Description
The system integrates a PEM fuel cell supplied by a metal hydride cylinder, which provides a safe and stable hydrogen supply. The fuel cell delivers a nominal output of 36 V DC, with enhanced stability provided by a supercapacitor module that compensates for rapid load variations. A DC/DC regulator then converts this voltage to 12 V DC, suitable both for powering a resistive load and for supplying the didactic inverter, which generates 230 V AC.
The complete system is mounted on an accessible didactic panel, with the modules interconnected through visible terminals that make each stage of the process easy to identify. The HY100 also includes professional monitoring software, allowing real-time display of the stack voltage, current, power and temperature, as well as data logging for subsequent analysis.
Thanks to its modular design and pedagogical approach, the HY100 is an ideal training tool for electrical engineering, renewable energy and hydrogen technology education.
