RF 01.1 – Refrigeration Chamber

This apparatus is specifically crafted to observe and analyze industrial refrigeration phenomena. It seamlessly incorporates all the vital components of an installation into a compact desktop unit. Engineered with modular systems, it is well-equipped to operate at freezing temperatures as low as -30°C.


The test bench comprises a refrigeration chamber equipped with a forced convection evaporator, powered by a thermostatic expansion valve. It includes a 250 W condensing unit, a transparent and heated access panel, and a refrigeration circuit with a flow visualizer featuring a heat exchanger for liquid subcooling and a solenoid valve. The system incorporates an electric defrost mechanism, controlled by a programmable logic controller (PLC) with precise function timing. Additionally, it is equipped with a dehydrator filter and a liquid storage tank.

The independent control features enable the simulation of various malfunctions, while the compressor’s “liquid hammer” prevention system ensures reliable operation even under extreme conditions. The vapor superheating can be finely regulated through the thermostatic valve settings.

Liquid display:
⦁ Liquid viewer to quickly control the conditions of the
refrigerant in liquid phase, the regularity of the flow and the
absence of humidity in the circuit. It also allows the
inspection of oil return to the compressor crankcase.
